K KING·WAYScraping Consultants

The King Legacy

Three generations of holding the world to a thousandth

The art of scraping is older than the machines it built. The King family kept it alive when factories tried to forget it — and turned it into a school.

The Origin

Herman “Red” King

Invented the KING-WAY alignment instrument and the cast-iron straightedges that set the standard for measuring machine geometry — the tools that made repeatable precision possible.

The Teacher

Richard King

Carried the family craft from the bench to the world. As the first commercial machine-scraping instructor in the United States, Richard turned a closely-guarded trade into a school open to any serious machinist.
